Danielson goes for 27 as the 'Cats fall short in southwest Portland

PORTLAND, ORE. – The Linfield Wildcats (2-6) traveled to Lewis & Clark (2-4) on December 1st  in the Pamplin Sports Center. Linfield had the lead most of the game but was unable to get past Lewi s & Clark falling 66-69 on Saturday evening.
 
'Cat stats
Molly Danielson picks up her fifth double-double of the season and had a game high of 27 points and 11 rebounds for the Wildcats in 31 minutes of play. Cameron Reuter continues to be a scoring threat for Linfield as she added 14 points, Kory Oleson also had 10 points for the 'Cats. Off the bench Hanna Bingham contributes nine points and six rebounds.  Linfield was 20 of 27 from the free-throw line and was able to pull down 36 rebounds, just four less than the Pioneers. .
 
Pioneer's box score
Lewis and Clark was led by Delsie Johnson who scored 18 points while counter-part Sara Hogman added 15 points. Five other Pioneers were able to get on the stat line and contribute to their 69 points. Lewis and Clark as 11 of 15 from the charity stripe and was 28 of 65 from the field,
 
1st Half
The Wildcats won the opening tip and scored in their first possession as Kory Oleson was fouled made one of two from the line. Lewis and Clark would counter with a lay-up in their first possession, however the 'Cats would went on a four point run to lead the for the second time in the match up. Linfield was up on Lewis and Clark heading into the second quarter despite two free throws from the Pioneers. The Wildcats kept their momentum as the went into the second quarter as Reuter made a layup in the opening minutes. The 'Cats went up by five with a little under four minutes left in the first half as Danielson made a lay-up. Linfield took an eight-point lead after Oleson made one of two from the charity stripe. Heading into the second half the Cats were up 28-22 over the Pioneers.
 
2nd Half
Linfield kept their momentum from the first scoring on an easy lay-up to start the second half. The Pios responded with an eight-point to take a one-point lead from the Wildcats.  Linfield and Lewis and Clark went back and forth in the third quarter, but the Wildcats went on a seven-point run to end the third quarter and lead the Pioneers (50-43). Lewis & Clark scored first in the fourth quarter and took the momentum from the Wildcats. The 'Cats and Pioneers went back and forth in the fourth quarter, but Lewis & Clark was able to squeeze out the win over Linfield.

The Wildcats hit the road for a noon non- conference match up with Corbin on Tuesday, December 18th.
