Oleson scores a game high of 22, despite Wildcats loss

MCMINNVILLE, ORE. – The Dutch Bros Double Header started off with the Linfield Wildcats (2-5) taking on the Pacific Lutheran Lutes (2-2) on November 30th in Ted Wilson Gym. Linfield was unable to get past PLU falling 68-80 on Friday night.
 
'Cat stats
Kory Oleson had a game high of 22 points and seven rebounds for the Wildcats in 39 minutes of play. Counter-part Molly Danielson knocked down 13 points and six rebounds. Cameron Reuter had her second double digit scoring night for the Wildcats as she added 12 points all coming in the first half.  Coming off the bench Maggie Smith was able to contribute eight points and five rebounds.
 
Lutes' box score
Pacific Lutheran was led by Madison Salisbury and Katie Taylor who each had 20 points. Emma Janousek and Kristin Strudivan each added 13 for the Lutes. Four other Lutes were able to get on the stat line. PLU was 32 of 63 from the field and 8 of 16 from behind the arc. The Lutes were able to pull down 35 total rebounds in the match up.
 
1st Half
The Lutes won the opening tip and scored in their first possession. Cameron Reuter countered for the Wildcats draining a jumper from the elbow. PLU went on a nine-point run before Molly Danielson was able to get on the board. The Lutes were able to string together another scoring run before Kory Oleson knocked down a jumper from the corner. Going into the second quarter the 'Cats were able to cut the Lutes lead to six point, trailing 19-25. PLU picked up where they left off scoring in their first possession of the second quarter on a right-handed layup. Linfield went on a six-point run cutting the Lutes lead to four points. The Lutes were able to keep the 'Cats at arms distance heading into the half with a seven-point lead.
 
 
2nd Half
PLU kept their momentum from the first scoring on an easy lay-up to start the second half. The 'Cats responded as Oleson made both of her free-throws and Jordyn Feinauer drained a three to put the Wildcats within five points. PLU was able to keep the lead going into the fourth quarter (47-56).  The Lutes were able to increase their lead half way through the fourth quarter to a game high of 17 points. Linfield was able to break up PLU's scoring run with back-to-back jumpers by Molly Danielson and Maggie Smith. The 'Cats went on another short-lived scoring run with jumpers by Oleson and Schutz. PLU was able to keep Linfield at arms-length however.

The Wildcats hit the road on for a 4:00 p.m. conference match up with Lewis and Clark on Saturday, December 1st.
