McMINNIVLLE, ORE. – On the afternoon of November 18
th the Linfield Wildcats (1-3) hosted the Walla Walla Wolves (1-6) in Ted Wilson gymnasium. The Wildcats were able to pick up their first win of the season taking down the Wolves 77 -48.
'Cat stats
Cameron Reuter logged the most minutes for the Wildcats as well as scoring a season high of 12 points and added seven assists.
Kory Oleson grabbed her second double-double of the season scoring 14 points and pulling down 10 rebounds. In the paint
Molly Danielson is still hot as she scored 23 points and went nine for nine at the free-throw line. All eight Wildcats were able to score in tonight match up.
Walla Walla's box score
The Wolves were led by Aaliyah Andersona and Carolina Montes who each had 13 points. Morgan Stanyer added 11 for Walla Walla. Three other Wolves were able to get on the stat line. Walla Walla was 13 of 43 from the field.
1st Half
The Wildcats came out shooting as
Jordyn Feinauer got the Wildcats on the board first as she drained a three from the corner. Walla Walla responded with a lay-up, but
Cassidy Schutz nailed a three to keep the 'Cats out front. The Wolves and Wildcats went back and forth the whole first quarter, but Linfield was able to stay ahead. Keeping their momentum into the second quarter the Wildcats were able to get back to back buckets from
Cameron Reuter and
Molly Danielson to extend their lead to six points. Linfield was able to hold onto their eight-point lead all the way till the end of the first half as they out-scored the Wolves 14- 7 in the second quarter.
2nd Half
Linfield kept their momentum from the first half as Danielson scored on the opening possession. The 'Cats extended their lead to 14 as they went on a six -point run in the beginning of the third quarter. Linfield took their largest lead of the game as Hannah Bingham laid in back to back lay-ups. The Wildcats outscored the Wolves 25 to 12 in the third quarter. Walla Walla went on a six-point run in the beginning of the fourth quarter, but the 'Cats would respond with back to back scores by Reuter and
Grace Corbin. Linfield kept the pedal down as they outscored the Wolves 23 to 15.
