PORTLAND, Ore. – With 1:10 left in regulation,
Isaias Flores broke a scoreless contest after converting a penalty kick to give the Wildcats a 1-0 victory against the Multnomah Lions, Friday evening at Delta Park.
First Half
The Wildcats commanded the first half, tallying six shots to Multnomah's two. Linfield netminder Eli Peckam cruised early on in the match, needing to provide just one save 14 minutes into the match. Linfield's
Josh Morales recorded the Wildcats' sixth shot of the game with a little more than six minutes to play in the opening period but his last attempt sailed high over the Lions' goal.
Second Half
With overtime looking a certainty, Linfield was awarded a penalty kick in the 89th minute. Flores proceeded to step up and slot home his second goal of the season, giving Linfield its second win of the year.
Leading Wildcats
Flores led the 'Cats with six shots while
Ryan Kister totaled four. Peckham turned away two shots.
Top Lions
Favila recorded a team-high four shots, with one of them hitting the target. Guillermo Olivares finished the night with five saves.

The Wildcats host the Corban Warriors Sunday at 6 p.m. This contest marks Linfield's final non-conference fixture before Linfield opens its conference slate at home against Pacific Lutheran on Sept. 16.
