In recognition of outstanding performance in the classroom and on the football field, Linfield College linebacker
Jake Reimer has been named a first team Academic All-American by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Reimer becomes just the second Wildcat since 2013 and the third in program history to be named a CoSIDA Academic All-American.
A three-time first team all-Northwest Conference honoree, Reimer enjoyed an outstanding senior season, helping the Wildcats to a 9-2 overall record and the program's ninth consecutive NWC championship.
Appearing in all 11 games this fall, Reimer recorded 53 total tackles, including six for loss. He intercepted three passes, recovered a fumble, and was credited with three pass breakups.
Academically, Reimer maintained a 3.92 grade point average while majoring in political science. He earned his second CoSIDA all-District 8 appointment. He plans to pursue a law career after graduating from Linfield in May.
Reimer is among 26 Division III Academic All-Americans who sport a GPA of at least 3.90, including five student-athletes who maintained a perfect 4.00 average.
A 2014 graduate of Sherwood High School, he is the son of Blake and Kelli Reimer.
