Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Vikings clip Wildcats in final minute, 81-76

McMINNVILLE, Ore. – Izzy Anderson scored 17 of her 28 points in the second half, leading visiting Augustana College of Illinois past Linfield College 81-76 in a nip-and-tuck battle Saturday night at Ted Wilson Gymnasium.

Anderson hit 9 of 17 shots from the field, pulled down a team-high seven rebounds and passed out three assists for the Vikings.

How it played out
After five ties and nine lead changes, Augustana withstood a furious Linfield rally in the final minute to scratch out the road win. Consecutive three-pointers in an 11-second span by Linfield's Paige Graham kept the game a one-possession affair. Six successful free throws by Augustana's Scooter Lopez and Alexis Jones finally put the game out of reach.

Linfield led by one point after one quarter, 17-16, and at the intermission, 30-29. Augustana assumed a three-point adavantage heading to the fourth quarter. When Graham hit her second three-pointer of the game with 4:04 left, the Wildcats led by one, 63-62.

Anderson responded with a driving layup to put the Vikings back on top by one, a lead that quickly grew to six points with under two minutes remaining. Graham's long-range heroics brought Linfield back to within one point before Augustana iced the game away with free throws.

'Cat stats
Bailey McDevitt led Linfield with 16 points off the bench. The sophomore center hit 5 of 10 shots from the field while adding six rebounds, two assists and a pair of steals.

Graham ended the night with 15 points, including four triples. Molly Danielson sank 6 of 12 shots to end with 13 points and a game-high nine rebounds. Erin Burns passed out eight assists while adding five rebounds and three points.

Linfield shot a respectable 43 percent from the floor, though Augustana hit 49 percent of its attempts. The difference in the game could be traced to the free throw line, where the Vikings sank 25 of 33 charity tosses compared to the Wildcats' 14 of 21.

Vikings by the numbers
Anderson was one of three Vikings to total double digits in scoring. Lopez, the Vikings' diminutive guard, scored 18 points, swishing all seven of her free throw attempts. Sadie Roberts had 10 points, five rebounds and two steals.
