McMINNVILLE, Ore. –
Audrey McMillan scored 13 points and
Kory Oleson added 12 but the Linfield Wildcats couldn't match the high-octane offense of the Southern Oregon Raiders Wednesday night at Ted Wilson Gym. The Raiders, led by three double-digit scorers, secured a one-sided 79-53 victory over the Wildcats.
Linfield saw its season record even out at 2-2. Southern Oregon boosted its overal mark to a spotless 5-0.
Linfield by the numbers
McMillian made 4 of 8 shots from the field and was near-perfect from the free throw line, hitting 5 of 6. Oleson turned in a strikingly similar stat line, making 4 of 8 from the field and 4 of 5 from the line.
Molly Danielson totaled nine rebounds, nine points and a team-best three assists.
Paige Graham contributed six rebounds, three steals and two assists.
Southern Oregon summary
The visiting Raiders got 21 points from both Remi Mejia and Casey Williams, plus 15 more by Daranda Hinkey.
Southern attempted 69 shots, 20 more than Linfield, and made 32 of them.
The teams were evenly matched on the backboards, with both clubs coming away with 40 rebounds.
How it played out
Linfield enjoyed an early six-point advantage, 10-4, when Oleson banked in a shot at 6:34 of the first quarter. But SOU quickly responded, going on a 14-1 run to take command. The Raiders never trailed after that.
The game was a seven-point contest at halftime with SOU leading 38-31. But 17 second-half turnovers prevented Linfield from mounting a comeback. The Wildcats were outscored 17-9 in the decisive third quarter as SOU opened up a commanding 55-40 lead.

The Wildcats will enjoy a three-day holiday break before returning to practice Sunday. Linfield opens Northwest Conference play Friday against Yamhill County neighbor George Fox. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. at Ted Wilson Gym.
