Success in the classroom goes hand-in-hand with accomplishment on the softball field for Linfield College's Kenzie Schmoll, who was recognized recently with her appointment to the 2016 Academic All-America Division III Softball Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Schmoll was named a third team Academic All-American following vote of the nation's collegiate sports information directors.
A two-time all-Academic all-District 8 honoree, Schmoll recently completed her finest softball season in a Linfield uniform. Starting every game at second base on the Wildcats' Northwest Conference Tournament and Spokane Regional Tournament championship team, Schmoll was nearly spotless defensively, posting a .968 fielding percentage with 120 putouts, 62 assists and just six errors in 48 games.
Offensively, Schmoll turned in a career year, hitting .355 with seven doubles, 14 RBIs and four stolen bases.
A double major in computer science and mathematics, Schmoll has maintained a perfect 4.0 grade point average through her three years of college.
