Matt Fishback begins his second year as an Assistant Coach with the Linfield baseball program in 2026-27.
Fishback '83 returns to Linfield where he competed on the baseball team from 1980-1983. A former high school baseball coach, he has also led successful club teams and run both player development and coaches’ clinics, helping athletes and staff alike improve their skills and approach to the game. His hands-on coaching style emphasizes fundamentals, discipline, and baseball IQ, while fostering confidence and growth in each player.
Off the field, Matt has built a career in the technology sector, where he has developed expertise in strategy, leadership, and team building at the highest levels. His experience working in dynamic, competitive environments translates seamlessly into coaching, where he encourages players to embrace accountability, preparation, and teamwork.
Matt is excited to contribute to Linfield’s tradition of excellence, bringing passion for player development, leadership, and a commitment to building strong teams on and off the field.
