Linfield University Athletics

Joe Stuart, a 2020 Linfield graduate, is in his fifth year as a member of the athletic department staff. He serves as play-by-play announcer and broadcast operations coordinator.

During the spring of 2021, he served as a freelance play-by-play broadcaster on the Linfield Sports Network following a four-year stint as a student in various roles within sports communications. His play-by-play experience includes announcing Wildcats basketball, soccer, volleyball, baseball and softball games.

The McMinnville High School graduate also spent two seasons as sideline reporter on Linfield football broadcasts. After graduation, he moved into the lead play-by-play position for football, pairing with longtime color analyst Dave Hansen.

His senior project as a student in Linfield's journalism and media studies program, a podcast miniseries titled "Purple Reign: The Story of the 2020 Linfield Men's Basketball Team," won first-place awards in the Specialty Programs & Podcasts category and the Radio Sports Story/Feature category at the 2021 Broadcast Education Association Festival of Media Arts.
