Chon Clayton is in his first year as assistant volleyball coach at Linfield.
Clayton brings nearly 30 years of coaching experience at the high school, college and club volleyball level. Most recently, he spent several seasons coaching at Warner Pacific University in Portland and at St. Martin’s University in Lacey, Washington.
Clayton has been involved with the Excel NW club program, the Oregon Premier Volleyball Club, the USA Volleyball High Performance program in the Puget Sound Region, and with USA Volleyball. Along with club season, he enjoys coaching beach volleyball and working at volleyball camps during the summer.
At the high school level, he successfully led Neah Bay High School to its first League and District championship and a seventh-place finish at the 1B Washington State Championships in 2007. He was also an assistant coach with the Ridgefield High School volleyball program, which saw success with back-to-back 2A state championships in 2018 and 2019.
