WHAT ARE THE REASONS YOU CHOSE TO ATTEND LINFIELD? In all honesty, Linfield wasn’t even on my list of potential colleges until Jackson reached out to me and showed interest in recruiting me. I liked what I heard during our meetings, went on a visit, and met a few players. I loved talking to the players and seeing the campus. Linfield felt right in terms of what I needed and wanted in a school.

WHAT DOES BEING A STUDENT-ATHLETE AT LINFIELD MEAN TO YOU? Being a student-athlete has always meant that academics come first and the hard work I put into my grades transfers over to athletics. Sports have been a way for me to put all of my stress about school aside for a few hours, participate and put my heart into physical activity. I get to be surrounded by others who are passionate about softball.

WHAT HAS BEEN THE BEST LINFIELD CLASS YOU’VE TAKEN AND WHY? The best class I have taken at Linfield was Ordinary Differential Equation (ODEs). It has proven to be applicable well beyond the end of the semester. Even while taking the class, I used the techniques I was learning to help me in my computational physics class. More than this, that class was simply fun. The professor made it a low-stress class, and the material made it enjoyable.

WHO HAS BEEN THE GREATEST INSPIRATION IN YOUR LIFE? WHY HAS HE OR SHE BEEN SO INFLUENTIAL Although cheesy, my sister is my greatest inspiration in my life. She is the person I turn toward whenever problems arise in my life and whom I trust and love unconditionally. She has had to deal with a lot in her life, but she has persisted through it all, and I couldn't be prouder of everything she has accomplished. She shows me every day what it means to be a loyal and loving friend, how to grow as a person both individually and with loved ones, and, above all, simply how to live in the world.

THE GREATEST PRINCIPLE OR LESSON THAT I’VE LEARNED WHILE COMPETING IN ATHLETICS AT LINFIELD HAS BEEN... How to find joy in everything. Obviously, there is a ton of joy to be found in travel trips and pre-game dance sessions and team football game watch parties, but this sport has taught me that there is also joy in plyo conditioning at 6 am and in waking up at 3 am to catch a flight after less than three hours of sleep. Among other reasons, those are the memories that I know have brought me closer to my teammates and that continue to bring us success. My teammates would probably think I'm crazy for saying this, but I know that, after graduation, I will look back on all of these memories with fondness, wishing I was back in these moments.

HOW HAS PARTICIPATING IN SPORTS MADE YOU A BETTER PERSON? Participating in sports has helped me improve my social skills. Being part of a team means developing communication on and off the field. I would attribute my kindness to athletics as well. Sports are about competition, but they also stress good sportsmanship. Being competitive and being a good sport are not always contradictions.

AS A LINFIELD STUDENT-ATHLETE, MY GOALS INDIVIDUALLY AND COLLECTIVELY FOR MY TEAM ARE... To compete and win at a high level. I hope that we make it back to the World Series, further than we did last year, and support each other and enjoy ourselves along the way.

WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF IN 10 YEARS? I don’t know what I want to do with my life yet. I could get my doctorate degree, become a math teacher or professor or even coach softball. My sister and I have this idea of living close.
