WHAT ARE THE REASONS YOU CHOSE TO ATTEND LINFIELD? I chose to attend Linfield because of obviously the women's basketball program but also the amount of internships and extracurricular activities for business majors. Also, the connections when it comes to getting jobs after college in the business world. And another reason was the campus- it’s not too big but not too small!
Â
WHAT DOES BEING A STUDENT-ATHLETE AT LINFIELD MEAN TO YOU? Being a student-athlete at Linfield means the most to me! Ever since I was growing up I wanted to play basketball at the next level after high school, and now I get to do that. Also, being able to be to play for a academically challenging school means that I can do both, the schooling and the sport.
Â
WHAT’S BEEN THE BEST LINFIELD CLASS YOU’VE TAKEN AND WHY? Contemporary Business with Damian Williams. He brought a different perspective to teaching and I learned a lot about the business world from different areas and professions.
Â
HOW HAS PARTICIPATING IN SPORTS MADE YOU A BETTER PERSON? Participating in sports has made me a better person by being more resilient and having a certain toughness when it comes to anything. Also, my work ethic has tremendously improved because of sports, because I know if I want something I have to work for it.
Â
WHO HAS BEEN THE GREATEST INSPIRATION IN YOUR LIFE? WHY HAVE THEY BEEN SO INFLUENTIAL? My mom. She continues to push herself everyday whether it is trying a new hobby or setting new goals for herself. Like running 5k’s all the time and going on long bike rides. She does all the little and big things for my family. She makes the world a better place just by being in it. I just try to be a little like my mom everyday.
Â
THE GREATEST PRINCIPLE OR LESSON THAT I’VE LEARNED WHILE COMPETING IN ATHLETICS AT LINFIELD HAS BEEN… Get one percent better everyday. Even when you don’t feel like doing something, do it anyways. It’s not just for yourself but for your teammates. The better you become the better the team becomes.
Â
WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF IN 10 YEARS? I have no idea where I see myself in 10 years. Hopefully working for Nike and through that collaborating with a sports team or whole sports league in many different ways.
Â
AS A LINFIELD STUDENT-ATHLETE, MY GOALS INDIVIDUALLY AND COLLECTIVELY FOR MY TEAM ARE… My goal is to be the best teammate that could be. Whether that’s having the most energy at practice and on the sideline or by hustling every play. I want to do everything that I can to put my team in the best position to succeed. My goal for the team is to win the conference this year and to exceed everyone’s expectations.
