WHY LINFIELD? I chose to attend Linfield because of the team culture and overall family that Linfield provides. I felt that Linfield would be the perfect school for me especially coming in as a transfer, being welcomed with open arms is something that really drew me in and eventually helped me commit to Linfield.
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE A STUDENT-ATHLETE AT LINFIELD? Being a student-athlete means a great deal to me. Being trusted to get results both on and off the court is something that I have always taken very seriously. Being a student-athlete is much more than just shooting a ball through a hoop, it is showing everyone that athletes have several different aspects to them than simply just their sport and I feel that being in that position is something to be very proud of.
WHAT MAKES YOU INTERESTING AS A STUDENT-ATHLETE? I always strive to be better and do better no matter what setting I am in. Whether it's on the basketball court or in the classroom I believe that there is always room for improvement and I feel that this mindset helps me to never stop pushing to be better, not just for me but for everyone around me as well.
WHAT'S THE BEST LINFIELD CLASS YOU'VE TAKEN AND WHY? The best class I have taken at Linfield so far has been Kinesiology taught by the one and only Cisco Reyes. This class really allowed me to get a glimpse into what my life would be like as a physical therapist in the future. I also enjoyed how interactive the class was and how comfortable I was able to feel when I was in class. Overall this class allowed me to understand the balance between work and play and I think that was a really big benefit for me personally.
WHO HAS BEEN THE GREATEST INSPIRATION IN YOUR LIFE? WHY HAS HE OR SHE BEEN SO INFLUENTIAL? My dad has been the greatest inspiration in my life because he has always taught me how to persevere through anything life throws at me. He has taught me to be brave and take chances because you never know what opportunities could be waiting for you. Most importantly he has taught me how to face my obstacles and fears head-on and conquer and learn from them.
THE GREATEST PRINCIPLE OR LESSON THAT I'VE LEARNED WHILE COMPETING IN ATHLETICS AT LINFIELD HAS BEEN... Everyone has an important role on the team. I have learned that all of the little things add up so doing your role to the best of your ability every practice and every game will only help your team succeed in the long run.
AS A LINFIELD STUDENT-ATHLETE, MY GOALS INDIVIDUALLY AND COLLECTIVELY FOR MY TEAM ARE... Be the best I/we can be every single day. Every day my goal is to be better than I was yesterday and I feel that as a team that is one of our big goals as well. If the entire team gets better each day then there will never be any doubt in regards to our abilities on the court.
WHAT IS NEXT AFTER LINFIELD? My career focus is on physical therapy, it is always something I have wanted to do and Linfield is helping me by teaching me the skills and information I will need to be the best in my field. Linfield Is giving me the opportunity to follow both of my dreams; through my career choice as well as through basketball and I could not be more blessed to be here and play for a school like Linfield.
