Emily Gray returns for her sixth season as an assistant on the Linfield women's basketball coaching staff. She specializes in teaching power forward and center fundamentals as well as shooting skills.
A native of Eugene, Oregon, Gray was a four-year starter at Bushnell University (formerly Northwest Christian) and was chosen as the Beacons’ most valuable player all four years. She led the team in scoring, rebounding and blocked shots as a freshman, garnering a spot on the national all-tournament team before achieving back-to-back All-America seasons the following two years. Battling back from knee injury, Gray joined the 1,000-point club and averaged 18.0 points, 9.0 rebounds and 4.0 blocks as a senior until her career was cut short by a third anterior cruciate ligament tear.
Following her playing days, Gray returned to her alma mater, Willamette High School, to serve on the coaching staff. During her five seasons with the program (2009-14) the junior varsity squad suffered just eight losses and the Wolverines varsity team captured three Midwestern League titles and consecutive Oregon Class 5A State Championships.
As a student at Willamette High School, Gray was a three-sport standout. She competed in basketball, tennis and track and field, earning Midwestern League honorable mention consideration in the sport of basketball.
