WHAT ARE THE REASONS YOU CHOSE TO ATTEND LINFIELD? I chose to attend Linfield because I wanted to attend a school that wasn't too close or too far from home, a place where I can start fresh. New environment, whole different diversity, new friends, and new leadership opportunities. I really enjoy seeing the Linfield community because we all support each other whether it's academically, athletics, or any other extracurricular activities that we have at the university.
WHAT DOES BEING A STUDENT-ATHLETE AT LINFIELD MEAN TO YOU? Being a student-athlete at Linfield is a whole new and different thing to me, if it wasn't for a friend of mine on the track team, I don't even think I would be part of this team. Although I may not know what it's fully like yet in the collegiate level, what I do know is that it is helping me increase my character development, the urge to try new things, and getting to know more people at school. Being part of this team is a huge commitment on the team and outside the team and I cannot wait to see what the future holds for me as part of this team for the first time as a junior.
HOW HAS PARTICIPATING IN SPORTS MADE YOU A BETTER PERSON? Participating in a sport has made me better my organization with time management an being committed to multiple things at once. I have realized that my teammates and the coaching staff are always there to pick me up when I am down and support whatever decisions I make. Being part of this team has definitely pulled me out of my comfort zone in communicating with my teammates that I have never even met. The environment is something I really adore because being part of other extra-curricular on campus makes me realize that I can have so much in common or barely even anything in common and they'll still have a special place in my heart even if we aren't the closest.
WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF IN 10 YEARS? In 10 years, I see myself being a school counselor at Woodburn High School while also being the assistant or maybe even head coach for the girls basketball program, well maybe even for the boys basketball team, I would definitely like to make a change somewhere, as long as I am continuing doing what I am passionate about then I definitely achieved my future career goals.
