WHY LINFIELD? I initially was drawn to Linfield by the opportunity to throw javelin. My brother is an alumni who played football, so I was also drawn to the strong sense of community and support that Linfield is known for.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE A STUDENT-ATHLETE? I take extreme pride in being a Linfield student-athlete, and to me it means the chance to do what I love while still maintaining high academic standards, as well as still being able to get involved in research and community leadership. After having to take my junior season off to work three jobs, the support I received from my coaches made a huge impact in my determination to be able to come back to compete for my senior season. Because of this, I view being a student-athlete as a privilege that I am incredibly grateful for. The opportunity to compete has been a particular driving force in my college career that serves as daily motivation for me to give my all inside the classroom, in research, and in the weight-room.

WHAT MAKES YOU INTERESTING AS A STUDENT-ATHLETE? I am a first-generation college student, and this will be my 10th year throwing javelin. I will be graduating this spring with two Bachelor of Science degrees in physics and mathematics. I am also the President of Linfield's Society of Physics Students (SPS), and am formerly the Co-President of the Linfield Math Club.

WHAT IS NEXT AFTER LINFIELD? I am looking to pursue a career in the physics or aerospace engineering field, and the mentoring I have had from the physics and math departments at Linfield has made that possible. This passion was kick-started my freshman year, when a physics professor gave me the opportunity to be a research intern for his company Applied Physics Technologies. After working there for two years, I knew that I wanted to pursue a research career in an impactful field.
