Biography
FRESHMAN
Ran a personal best of 57.43 in the 400 meters.
Clocked a personal record of 26.51 in the 200 meters during the outdoor season.
DURANGO HIGH SCHOOL
Graduated from Durango High School with high honors diploma.
Nevada All-State Academic Team.
3-year varsity letter winner in track and field, soccer, and bowling.
Captain of the soccer and track and field teams.
Had one 4th place finish and two 3rd place finishes at the state track and field meet.
Scholar Athlete award winner.
PERSONAL INFORMATION
Son of Heather Phillips.
Majoring in exercise science and secondary education.
Earned Dean’s List recognition during both semesters of the 23-24 academic year.
WHAT ARE THE REASONS YOU CHOSE TO ATTEND LINFIELD?
I chose Linfield because they have amazing programs and a welcoming staff. They also compete against some of the top schools in the Northwest for Track! Overall, while visiting the campus, I saw myself here.
WHAT DOES BEING A STUDENT-ATHLETE AT LINFIELD MEAN TO YOU?
Being a student-athlete at Linfield means that I get to make friends with people with similar interests to me, both inside and outside of the classroom. It also means a lot of work and time management so that I don't fall behind.
HOW HAS PARTICIPATING IN SPORTS MADE YOU A BETTER PERSON?
Participating in sports has made me a better person in many ways. It has made me healthier and allowed me to practice good habits. However, the main thing sports have taught me was that you have to surround yourself with people who challenge you as well as role models, because you can learn from them both.
WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF IN 10 YEARS?
In 10 years, I see myself working a job based around sports, while also being in a position that will allow me to give back to my community.
WHAT’S THE BEST LINFIELD CLASS YOU’VE TAKEN AND WHY?
Anatomy, the teachers are amazing, and you learn so much!
