WHAT ARE THE REASONS YOU CHOSE TO ATTEND LINFIELD? I choose Linfield because of all of the opportunities that are here. I am coming from a big university where I was just another face in a 600-person lecture hall. I know at Linfield I will be welcomed, and I can be Stephany again, not just a face.

WHAT DOES BEING A STUDENT-ATHLETE AT LINFIELD MEAN TO YOU? I believe being a student-athlete means participating in the sport you love while studying the subjects you're passionate about. Being a student-athlete is a great way to learn key lifelong skills such as time management, social skills, and balance.

HOW HAS PARTICIPATING IN SPORTS MADE YOU A BETTER PERSON? Swimming has helped my mental health, physical health, and overall education. I had a very rough freshman year not swimming at my previous school and saw the effects of not having an outlet to express myself. My grades were below average, my social life was nonexistent, and I had no drive for school. BUT once I started swimming again, and I saw great improvement in my life, and I was happy again.

WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF IN 10 YEARS? I see myself working as a physical therapist helping athletes mainly swimmers recover.

WHAT’S THE BEST LINFIELD CLASS YOU’VE TAKEN? During my sophomore year I took and intro to accounting class and absolutely fell in love with the curriculum. I get a rush of excitement every time I get my numbers to balance out!

WHO HAS BEEN THE GREATEST INSPIRATION IN YOUR LIFE? My biggest inspiration is my mom. She’s an amazing support system to the whole family and phenomenal entrepreneur. She pushed me to reach beyond my wildest dreams and never limits me.

THE GREATEST LESSON I’VE LEARNED WHILE COMPETING IN ATHLETICS AT LINFIELD HAS BEENThe pool is where my family is.

AS A LINFIELD STUDENT-ATHLETE, MY GOALS INDIVIDUALLY AND COLLECTIVELY FOR MY TEAM ARE… I want to help foster a positive, inclusive environment for my teammates to feel how special our team is. Sco cats!
