Kyle Kimball

Kyle Kimball

Kyle Kimball is in his 12th year in charge of the Linfield swimming program.

In 2023, Kimball guided the Linfield women's swimming program to its first Northwest Conference championship in 30 years. Both the men's and women's squads posted perfect 8-0 NWC dual meet records during the 2022-23 season.

Since taking over leadership of the program in 2014-15, Kimball has helped Linfield's men's and women's swim squads climb from also-rans to consistent contenders at the Northwest Conference Championships. He has guided the Linfield men's program to a 60-18 dual-meet record while the women's program has gone 56-21-1 in dual meets under his tutelage.

A results-oriented coach with over 30 years experience at the club, high school, collegiate and international levels, he previously led the BearCat Swim Club in Salem and taught physical education in the David Douglas School District. KImball spent nine years in charge of the McMinnville Swim Club and also spent time leading the Visalia (Calif.) Swim Team and the Salem Aquatic Club. He gained exposure to NCAA Division III and the Northwest Conference while serving short assistantships at Linfield and Willamette University.

At Linfield, Kimball also serves as the university's Aquatics Director, managing all aspects of the swimming pool's operation.

Kimball was a four-year swimming letterwinner at the University of Washington where he was twice honored as the men’s most valuable swimmer in 1992 and and 1993. He qualified for the Pacific-10 Conference all-academic team each of his four seasons in Seattle.

Kyle and his wife, Caitlin, live in McMinnville with their two daughters, Vivian and Elenor.
