Alec Webster

Alec Webster

Alec Webster is in his eighth year as an assistant swimming coach at Linfield.

In 2023, Webster helped guide the Linfield women's swimming program to its first Northwest Conference championship in 30 years.

Prior to joining the Linfield staff, Webster spent 10 years leading the swimming program at Northwest Conference rival Pacific University, where he coached multiple individual conference champions and was named the NWC Women’s Coach of the Year in 2012. The Pacific program averaged 12 new school records a year under Webster’s tutelage.

Before Pacific, Webster was head swimming and diving coach at Lake Forest College in Illinois for seven seasons. At Lake Forest, he coached seven NCAA All-Americans, two national champions and 51 Midwest Conference champions. His Lake Forest women’s team placed as high as 18th at the NCAA Championships. His men’s squad claimed the 2001 MWC team title.

Webster began his coaching career as an assistant at the University of North Carolina, helping lead the Tar Heels to six straight Atlantic Coast Conference women’s championships and five consecutive ACC men’s crowns.

Graduating from Williams College in 1992 with a bachelor’s degree in political science, Webster was appointed captain of his college swimming and water polo teams.
