Biography

PERSONAL INFORMATION
Majoring in Biology.

WHAT’S THE BEST LINFIELD CLASS YOU’VE TAKEN AND WHY? My favorite class so far has been environmental health, because it was interesting and applied to the field of work I want to go into (health science). The professor was a medical doctor and she shared stories with us of her time in the emergency department.

WHO HAS BEEN THE GREATEST INSPIRATION IN YOUR LIFE? Right now, I would say that my biggest inspiration is Kaylee Bays, an ambulatory wheelchair user with the same genetic condition as me, Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. She is currently in a musical at Disneyland as a dancer in her wheelchair. Like me, she was a dancer before being diagnosed and I find it really inspiring that she found adaptations to be able to continue doing what she loves. Her Instagram handle is @slayleebays.

THE GREATEST PRINCIPLE OR LESSON THAT I’VE LEARNED WHILE COMPETING IN ATHLETICS AT LINFIELD HAS BEEN… It costs nothing to be kind. You never know exactly what someone is going through, and a team is meant to build each other up.

AS A LINFIELD STUDENT-ATHLETE, MY GOALS INDIVIDUALLY AND COLLECTIVELY FOR MY TEAM ARE… Individually my goal is to be a good captain for my team. I want them to feel like they can come to me with anything. I’ve had some great captains to look up to these past few years at Linfield and I want to carry on that tradition. For the team, my goal is for us to continue to gain recognition as a sport here. When I first joined the team, we weren’t even under athletics. I’m excited to see that Linfield is recognizing dance as the sport it is!
