WHY LINFIELD? Linfield was my number one choice for college due to its atmosphere. It doesn't feel like a campus, it feels like a town where everyone is family, and looks out for each other.
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE A STUDENT-ATHLETE AT LINFIELD? Being a student-athlete in college was one of my biggest goals as I grew up in Federal Way, Washington. It means I'm driven, goal oriented and hard-working. I want to make my college, my community and most importantly, my family proud as a student-athlete.
WHAT MAKES YOU INTERESTING AS A STUDENT-ATHLETE? Student-athletes are able to multi-task very well. All in one bus-ride, we can finish the weekends' homework, take a four-hour nap, eat three meals, and prep for the next game all at the same time!
WHAT’S THE BEST CLASS YOU’VE TAKEN AT LINFIELD AND WHY? The best Class that I took at Linfield was POLS Current Debates in U.S. Foreign Policy. We dealt with present-day foreign policy issues from public health to climate change to military conflict. Our coursework dealt with drafting various policy solutions to the challenges that face the United States today, and we were graded on our policy prowess, research, and arguments. This was the best class that I've taken at Linfield because I had the freedom to think freely about solving real-world issues, and then perform them publicly, giving a feeling of accomplishment and purpose to completing the coursework.
WHO HAS BEEN THE GREATEST INSPIRATION IN YOUR LIFE? WHY HAS HE OR SHE BEEN SO INFLUENTIAL? My sisters and parents have been huge inspirations in my life. Being the youngest in my family I was able to watch them overcome impossible challenges. In my life, my challenges feel miniscule in comparison to what they've been able to accomplish.
THE GREATEST PRINCIPLE OR LESSON THAT I’VE LEARNED WHILE COMPETING IN ATHLETICS AT LINFIELD HAS BEEN... Whatever goal you have is within you. Stop trying so hard.
AS A LINFIELD STUDENT-ATHLETE, MY GOALS INDIVIDUALLY AND COLLECTIVELY FOR MY TEAM ARE... Individually, get a hit and a walk every game. Collectively, make Linfield Baseball a winning program again.
WHAT IS NEXT AFTER LINFIELD? My career focus is to finish my degree in international relations in order to pursue a career in the United States State Department. I would like to devote my life to improving the safety and security of my fellow Americans and work for a unique and fulfilling profession. Attending Linfield will be a good first step in learning to adapt, work under pressure and build a network of like-minded individuals who can help make life even richer.
