WHY LINFIELD? I chose Linfield because the baseball coaching staff drew my attention to the school and when I saw the school itself, I knew this was where I wanted to go. The location, the academics and the ability to continue playing ball was a dream come true for me.
 
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE A STUDENT-ATHLETE AT LINFIELD? Being a student-athlete at Linfield means I am not only a part of the academic community I will learn to be a part of during my time here, but I will also be a part of an athletic community through the bond of sports. It means I have the ability to connect and grow through two worlds rather than one.
 
WHAT MAKES YOU INTERESTING AS A STUDENT-ATHLETE? Student-athletes try and separate the two worlds, the student and the athlete, but being able to combine the two and use what you learn in both worlds creates a better atmosphere for myself as I am able to apply everything I learn in either aspect. It allows me to show my intense work ethic, or immense passion for whatever I set my mind to that allows me to stand out.
 
WHAT’S THE BEST LINFIELD CLASS YOU’VE TAKEN AND WHY?
The best Linfield Class I've taken was PHYS 316 (Circuits and Electronics II). It was the most hands-on and engaging class I've taken. To be able to brainstorm our own projects and see them finished and functioning was a really good feeling as we were able to show off what we had been learning the last couple years.
 
WHO HAS BEEN THE GREATEST INSPIRATION IN YOUR LIFE? WHY HAS HE OR SHE BEEN SO INFLUENTIAL?
My Dad has been the greatest inspiration in my life. He's been the one to show me how to handle tough situations in life and how to get through them. If not for him and how he showed me to handle failure, I wouldn't be where I am today.
 
THE GREATEST PRINCIPLE OR LESSON THAT I’VE LEARNED WHILE COMPETING IN ATHLETICS AT LINFIELD HAS BEEN…
To not be afraid to try something new. I originally committed to Linfield to play baseball. That plan didn't work out but I wasn't ready to quit competing. In a shot in the dark decision, I decided to join the Track and Field team with having no previous experience. Since then, I have become friends with some amazing people and it has been a blast learning new ways to compete and learning more about what I can do as an athlete.
 
AS A LINFIELD-STUDENT ATHLETE, MY GOALS INDIVIDUALLY AND COLLECTIVELY FOR MY TEAM ARE…
To push my team to do their best and hold myself to the same standard. Track is a very individual event but having the community and support behind you while you compete makes all the difference.

WHAT IS NEXT AFTER LINFIELD? My career focus isn't locked in. I know what area I want to work in, but I am unsure of the details. I believe Linfield will open up doors to those details and let me choose what I believe the best option is for me.
