Larry Carlson is in his third year as a member of the LinfieldĀ baseball coaching staff, following a successful high school coaching career in California and Washington state.

A 1972 Linfield graduate, Carlson was a two-year baseball letter winner for the Wildcats.

He spent 30 years as a high school pitching coach, including 19 seasons at Gig Harbor High School. Over the past 10 years, Gig Harbor won a string of South Sound Conference championships, including four titles in a row from 2016 to to 2019.

Carlson helped the Tides to state tournament appearances in eight of the past 10 seasons, highlighted by a WIAA Class 3A state championship in 2017.

He coached a number of high school players to successful careers in college and professional baseball.

He and his wife, Colleen, live in McMinnville. His son, Ryan, was a record-setting All-America defensive end at Linfield and is a 2018 inductee into the Linfield Athletics Hall of Fame.
