WHY LINFIELD? Linfield had the best opportunities for me both academically and athletically.
WHAT MAKES YOU INTERESTING AS A STUDENT-ATHLETE? I like to challenge myself as a student. I enjoy taking challenging science classes.
WHAT IS THE BEST CLASS YOU’VE TAKEN AT LINFIELD AND WHY? My favorite class I've taken is Kinesiology. I enjoyed the intellectual thoughts that Dr. Reyes brought to the table and the way he approached it with an open mind. He never made me feel like there was a right or wrong answer and helped us learn through discussion.
WHO HAS BEEN THE GREATEST INSPIRATION IN YOUR LIFE? WHY HAS HE OR SHE BEEN SO INFLUENTIAL? My dad is my biggest inspiration. He battled cancer for longer than any of us knew and never acted like he wasn’t strong enough to take it on. He showed me how to wake up every morning, show up for the people around you and give it everything you have.
THE GREATEST PRINCIPLE OR LESSON THAT I’VE LEARNED WHILE COMPETING IN ATHLETICS AT LINFIELD HAS BEEN... Rent is due every day. Even after two elbow surgeries, there was always a way to pay rent or get better every day. If you want to be great, being consistent will get you there. Pay rent every day.
AS A LINFIELD STUDENT-ATHLETE, MY GOALS INDIVIDUALLY AND COLLECTIVELY FOR MY TEAM ARE... My goal for our team is to do the right things at the right time every time we step on the field. Put the ball in play where we need to and throw the ball where it needs to be. If we do that, we will be the stand-alone NWC champions and get a run at a national championship. My individual goal for this year is to throw three elite pitches for strikes and get batters out with the least amount of pitches possible. If I can do that, I could be the NWC Pitcher of the Year.
WHEN NOT COMPETING IN SPORTS OR STUDYING FOR SCHOOL, I LIKE TO SPEND MY FREE TIME… Playing golf, watersports and outdoor activities.
