WHY LINFIELD? I chose Linfield for so many reasons! Coming from a two-year school where the golf team and staff really made me feel at home I was struggling to find that same feel. When I met the coaching staff and some of the faculty I immediately fell in love. I knew right away that Linfield was the place for me.
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE A STUDENT-ATHLETE AT LINFIELD? It means work and determination. Having to balance so many things while still really trying to grow up is difficult.
WHAT MAKES YOU INTERESTING AS A STUDENT-ATHLETE? The way I came up. I played year-round select baseball for years as a kid and didn't start golf until my sophomore year of high school and man I was terrible! Being surrounded by excellent teammates at Olympia helped because I was able to learn quick. Heading into Skagit College I still wasn't as good as I wanted to be but with the great coaching staff I was able to work my way to the golfer I am now.
WHAT IS NEXT AFTER LINFIELD? My career focus is to teach and coach as well. With my parents being split when I was a kid and both working vigorous schedules I really was on my own. I really learned a lot for myself and I remember having lots of teachers and coaches I looked up to and thought of as a role model. If I can go out there and teach and coach kids and be someone they want to learn from and someone they go to when times get difficult then what else is there?! That sounds so rewarding to me.
