WHY LINFIELD? I chose Linfield because of all the opportunities it held in store for me. Linfield is allowing me to study my major of choice as well as furthering my athletic career in the sport I am passionate about. It was a win-win situation.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE A STUDENT-ATHLETE AT LINFIELD? Being a student-athlete means I am held to a different standard. Student-athletes are asked to balance school and sports as well as being an active member in the school community. Being on the track or the field, it means that all eyes are on you to represent your school in the best way possible.

WHAT MAKES YOU INTERESTING AS A STUDENT-ATHLETE? I am able to learn two-times more than other student-athletes. I am not only learning in a classroom but am also blessed with the opportunity to learn from my coaches and teammates on the track, ultimately making me a more well-rounded person.

WHAT’S THE BEST CLASS YOU’VE TAKEN AT LINFIELD AND WHY? The best Linfield class I have taken so far would be Anatomy. The professors were amazing and the material we learned was super interesting!

WHO HAS BEEN THE GREATEST INSPIRATION IN YOUR LIFE? WHY HAS HE OR SHE BEEN SO INFLUENTIAL? My greatest inspiration is my little brother. He is one of the strongest people I know and has had to overcome a lot of challenges in his life. He inspires me to not let other people’s opinions define who I am and to never fear challenges.

THE GREATEST PRINCIPLE OR LESSON THAT I’VE LEARNED WHILE COMPETING IN ATHLETICS AT LINFIELD HAS BEEN... The greatest lesson I have learned while competing in track is patience. Knowing that you have to have patience to see results from training, patience in a race and patience’s with yourself. And most importantly knowing that all of the hard work and effort you put into something will pay off.

AS A LINFIELD STUDENT-ATHLETE, MY GOALS INDIVIDUALLY AND COLLECTIVELY FOR MY TEAM ARE... My individual goal is to PR this season in high jump and hopefully make it in the school record book. And as for the team I would like to see the women’s 4x4 team place at conference again and PR as well from last season.

WHAT IS NEXT AFTER LINFIELD? My career focus is on nursing. My ultimate goal is to become a pediatric nurse and help people in third world countries receive the care and support they need from a medical professional. Linfield is helping me achieve my goal by providing me with top notch education and resources that will prepare me for what comes in my future.
