Linfield baseball earned a pair of pitchers, junior
Zack Hampson and sophomore
Colton Ouellette, named to All-Region teams as announced by both D3Baseball.com and the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) on Monday morning.
Â
Hampson got nods from both organizations, making First Team All-Region 10 via D3Baseball.com and Second Team All-Region X from the ABCA/Rawlings. The Seattle, Washington, native was the lone Northwest Conference pitcher to earn First Team All-Region by D3Baseball.com, one of our total NWC pitchers across the three teams. ABCA listed Hampson and Pacific's Nick Saelens as the only two from the Northwest on their three All-Region selections.
Â
The junior appeared in 21 total games out of the Wildcats bullpen, boasting a 7-1 record with five saves. Over 44.1 innings pitched, he maintained a 2.23 earned run average with 25 strikeouts and just six walks. Hampson was named Third Team All-Northwest Conference earlier this month, topping the conference statistics page in ERA (2.23), runs allowed (12), earned runs allowed (11), walks allowed (6), hits allowed (38), and doubles allowed (4). He also ranked top-three in the NWC in opposing batting average (.232), wins (7), and saves (5).Â
Â
Reno, Nevada, native
Colton Ouellette shined late in the season for the 'Cats filling the role as the No. 2 starter in the back-half of the season, helping him earn D3Baseball.com's Third Team All-Region 10.Â
Â
In six starts over 14 appearances, Ouellette had consecutive seven-inning starts against Whitman and Puget Sound in April, striking out 8+ batters and allowing just one run. In his final four starts of the season, he averaged seven strikeouts and over five-innings pitched per start, helping him to a 3-3 record. He finished his sophomore campaign with a 3.74 ERA, striking out 58 and walking 23.Â
Â
Linfield completed the season with a 24-18 record, going 15-9 in NWC play, making a run to the NWC Tournament title game. First-year Head Coach
Jordan Harlow led the 'Cats to their most NWC wins since 2018 and the third-most NWC wins by a first-year Linfield baseball coach since program history (15).Â
