TACOMA, Wash. --- Linfield women's golf competed in the second of three Northwest Conference Tournaments over the weekend, finishing eighth as a team at the NWC Spring Classic.

The Wildcats had the biggest improvement as a team from the first to final rounds, opening with a 372 before rebounding with a 357 on Sunday.

Breleigh Garcia and
Addison Nations shot identical scores on both days, opening with a 90 but improving to shoot 89 on Sunday. The duo led the team, tying for 33
rd place. Garcia had the lowest nine-hole score for Linfield in either round, making four pars in route to shooting a five-over 41 on the back nine on Saturday.

Sophia Hamilton started the tournament with a 93, plagued by one bad hole, but bounded back with a 92 on Sunday. Hamilton made the 'Cats only birdie for the tournament on the par-four 17
th hole on Sunday, finishing in 36
th for the tournament.

Kariss Whitford had the greatest improvement from rounds one to two, shooting 99 on Saturday but leading the team with an 87 on Sunday. Whitford moved up into 37
th place with her round on Sunday.
Sara Pate remained consistent, firing two rounds of 103, placing 39
th.Â

George Fox took home the team title with a two-day total of 610, meanwhile Lewis & Clark's Ahika Jani claimed the medalist honor with rounds of 74, 73.Â

Women's golf tees it up next weekend at home, hosting the Wildcat Invite at Michelbook Country Club on Sunday and Monday.
