Sophomore Sara Pate
NORTH PLAINS, Ore. --- Linfield women's golf wrapped up the 2025-26 season on Monday afternoon at Pumpkin Ridge's Ghost Creek Golf Course, finishing seventh as a team in the Northwest Conference Golf Championships.

Freshman Addison Nations paced the Wildcats, finishing 26th individually. She made two birdies in the first round, the only birdies for the team, in route to shooting an 86 on the par-71 course. She fell back six spots in the standings with a 92 on Monday.

Sara Pate opened with a 93 on Sunday but improved by seven strokes in the second round to fire her lowest score of the season, an 86, on Tuesday. Pate made worse-than bogey on just two holes and sank five pars in the final route to finish 27th, her best finish of her sophomore campaign.

Taking 28th, freshman Breleigh Garcia showed the most improvement between the two rounds. She opened with a 98 before jumping ten spots with an 82 on Tuesday that featured a pair of birdies that fueled a 38 (+3) on the back nine. It capped off her first season as a Wildcat on a high note, with her best round of the season.

Freshman Ainsley Kelley contributed to the team score in both rounds, shooting 97, 107, to take 37th individually. Freshman Sophia Hamilton competed on Sunday, shooting 97, but could not finish out the tournament after battling through an injury.

The Wildcats finished seventh of eight teams, ahead of the Whitman Blues who didn't record a team score. George Fox claimed the team title by an eight-stroke margin over Whitman. Whitman's Camila Yoo earned medalist honors after defeating Pacific Lutheran's Jayda Thomas in a playoff.

In the final Northwest Conference standings, combining the stroke play results from the three NWC-sanctioned events, Linfield finished sixth as a team. The 'Cats finished ahead of both Pacific Lutheran, Whitman and Willamette. George Fox claimed the team title after sweeping the three events with a combined stroke total of 1901.
