SALEM, Ore. – Linfield women's golf returned to the links over the weekend, led by freshman Breleigh Garcia for the second time this Spring, finishing 26^th individually and ninth as a team. 
 
Garcia had one of two birdies for Linfield in the first round, making five-straight pars on the back nine to shoot an 86 in the first round. The freshman had just one hole where she scored worse than a bogey in the final round, improving with an 83 in round two on her way to a 26^th-place finish. 
 
Kariss Whitford opened with an 86 to tie with Garcia for the best Wildcat score on Saturday, falling 11 places with a 93 on Sunday, making the team's only birdie on the par four seventh. Sara Pate made the 'Cats second birdie of the first round, a two on her first hole of the tournament, shooting rounds of 93, 96, placing 46^th.
 
Addison Nations showed improvement from rounds one to two, opening with a 97, bouncing back with an 89 that featured four pars on the front nine to shoot 89. Nations finished 45^th, just behind teammate Sophia Hamilton who improved the most from rounds one to two. Hamilton's first round 98 didn't factor into the team score, but her 85 in the second round was the second-best on the team on Sunday; finishing 42^nd.
 
Competing as an individual in the event, freshman Ainsley Kelly shot rounds of 106, 105, taking 51^st place. 
 
George Fox won the team title by just one shot over NAIA Lewis-Clark State. Lewis & Clark College's Ahika Jani captured medalist honors with rounds of 75, 72. 
 
The 'Cats tee it up again in a pair of weeks at the George Fox Invite at Arrowhead Golf Course in Molalla, Oregon.
