FOREST GROVE, Ore. --- Linfield men's wrestling ended the dual season off on a high note, taking down NWC-rival Pacific on the road, 30-16.
Â
Pacific grabbed an early 7-0 lead, as
Jacob Moore fell in a 20-11 major decision, and
Max Vander Meide dropped the 133-pound match, by 11-4 decision. But with three Boxer forfeits, Linfield actually had a 18-7 lead at the time.Â
Â
The Boxers climbed back from the deficit caused by forfeits, downing Linfield's Fermin Carillo and
Lucien Lefebvre, now Linfield only led 18-16.
Â
Trey Dieringer and
Camden Roofener halted the Boxer momentum there, as Dieringer pinned his opponent late in the first period of the 184-pound bout. Roofener follow suit with a first-period pin of his own, carrying the Wildcats to a 30-16 win on the road.
Â
The regular season ends for Linfield wrestling, with hopes of making the NCAA Upper Midwest Regional.
