McMINNVILLE, Ore. –
Luke McNabb passed for 355 yards and three touchdowns and ran for another score, lifting Linfield to a 58-24 Northwest Conference victory over Yamhill County rival George Fox on Homecoming Weekend.
The Wildcats improved to 2-1 overall and 1-0 in the NWC, handing the visiting Bruins their first defeat of the season on the new Maxwell Field turf. A packed house of 2,361 watched as the Wildcats held a lead in the game for all but the game's first 20 seconds.

Matthew Spurbeck added a pair of rushing TDs, while backup
Dace O'Bagy came off the bench to run for a game-high 71 yards on nine carries, pacing a Linfield ground game that amassed a season-high 182 net yards rushing.
The Linfield passing game was sharp as well.
Kai Laukkanen,
Jayce Bareng and
Cade Welch each caught TD passes. McNabb enjoyed one of his finest passing days as a Wildcat, completing 21 of 26 pass attempts without an interception.
Defensively, Linfield was led by the eight tackles of
Brady Crenshaw, plus six more stops from
Hudson Reink. Kaio and
Kellen Wiggins each finished with five tackles while
Wyatt Abrigo had four. Reink, Abrigo and
Jaydon Kaio were each credited with sacks in the game.
The Wildcats needed only 20 seconds to reach the end zone, cashing in a turnover into seven points. JJ Leman's pass was deflected by cornerback
Reid Gray and then intercepted by rover
Iloa Kaio, who returned the football 26 yards for a touchdown.
The Bruins answered on their next drive with a seven-play, 72-yard march, scoring on Karsen Denault's 16-yard run. The extra point attempt went awry, leaving Linfield holding a 7-6 lead with 10:53 on the clock.
Five minutes later, McNabb connected with Laukkanen on an 8-yard scoring strike. The extra point by
Andrew O'Dell pushed the Linfield lead to 14-6. O'Dell added a 32-yard field goal with 11:46 left in the half, putting the'Cats in front by 11.
Ben Rembisz booted a 42-yard field goal for George Fox at the 7:16 mark, keeping the Bruins in close contention. Three minutes later, McNabb hit a wide-open Jace Bareng with a 27-yard aerial down the middle of the field.
The Wildcats led by 15 with 4:14 to go before intermission before Rembisz cut the lead back to 24-12 with seven seconds left in the half, booting a field goal from 45 yards out.
Spurbeck extended the Wildcats' advantage two consecutive scoring plays just three minutes apart. He scored on 15-yard run to start the second half and added a 2-yard blast to cap a five-play, 75-yard drive with 9:08 left in the third period.
McNabb ran around left end for a 4-yard TD with 1:10 to go in the third period, giving the 'Cats a seemingly insurmountable 44-12 lead.
After the Bruins went three-and-out on their next drive, the Wildcats took the opportunity to add more points. McNabb hooked up with Welch on a 73-yard catch-and-run TD, the longest pass play of the season. Linfield led 51-12 following O'Dell's extra point.
The Bruins pushed across a pair of scored a pair of inconsequential touchdowns in the fourth quarter, pulling within 51-24, but the Wildcats extinguished all hope of a comeback with O'Bagy's 5-yard TD with 5:34 remaining.
