Brody Landaker led the Linfield men's golf team in a nationally-ranked field last week in Rancho Cucamonga, California, at The Clash hosting by reinging DIII national champion Claremont-Mudd-Scripps. Landaker's ninth-place finish earned himself the honor of Northwest Conference Men's Golf Athlete of the Week.
The North Plains, Oregon, native carded rounds of 74, 71 for a 145 (+1) total for the 36-hole tournament; good for a tie for ninth place individually. He made five birdies across the two days of competition, including three birdies and just two bogeys on Tuesday for his one-under 71. Landaker led the team to tie for fifth in the team standings, finishing ahead of No. 17 Pomona-Pitzer and No. 41 Occidental. Those two SCIAC squads were just one of six total to hold a national-ranking, including the Wildcats who entered at No. 44.Â
Through four tournaments this Fall, Landaker boasts a 73.19 scoring average with a pair of top-ten finishes. He and the Linfield men's golf team enter into the winter months to prepare for the Spring slate, where they aim to make a run back at the Northwest Conference title after finishing third a season ago.
