CSC Football Academic All-District 2025

Linfield football earns six College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honorees

College Sports Communicators (CSC) released their annual Football Academic All-District honorees on Tuesday morning, highlighting six Linfield football student-athletes for the prestigious award.
 
CSC's Academic All-America program recognizes student-athletes that are in sophomore or older academic standing, who excel with a minimum of a 3.50 grade point average in the classroom, while also competing in at least 90% of the team's games or starting in at least 66% of games. 
 
Kicker Gavin Dalziel was honored as the lone member of the senior class to be named Academic All-District. It mark's the Brier, Washington, native's third academic all-district honor, where he will be voted upon by Division III athletic communicators for the highly-touted Academic All-America honors in the coming weeks. The son of Mindy and Don Dalziel graduated with his bachelor's degree in the spring of 2025, earning Summa Cum Laude while studying Exercise Science and Secondary Education; boasting a 3.92 cumulative GPA. On the field, Dalziel made 40 field goals and 212 extra-points over five seasons at Linfield, making him the program leader in PATs made, field goals made, and field goals attempted. 
 
Three juniors were honored by CSC, wide receiver Dane Meddaugh, running backs Jackson Pfeifer and Matthew Spurbeck. Meddaugh, from Gig Harbor, Washington, holds a 3.75 GPA in Finance, making 32 receptions for a total of 459 yards and three scores in his breakout season. Pfeifer, a native of Silverton, Oregon, earned his second consecutive All-District honor with thanks to a 3.60 GPA, studying Sports Management. He competed in all nine games for the 'Cats, posting 380 all-purpose yards. Running back Matthew Spurbeck teamed up with Pfeifer in the backfield, tallying 360 all-purpose yards and three scores. Spurbeck is currently studying Finance, maintaining a 3.82 cumulative grade point average.
 
In their first year eligible, sophomores Benson Deibele and Hudson Reink rounded out Linfield's academic honorees. With an impressive 4.0 GPA while studying Business, defensive tackle Benson Deibele made 17 total tackles in nine games. Hudson Reink remains undecided on his major, but holds a 3.50 GPA, while leading the team with 60 total tackles and 12 tackles for loss over nine games. 
 
Linfield football finished the 2025 season with a 7-2 overall record and a 6-1 record in Northwest Conference play, finishing second. The Wildcats clinched their 69th consecutive winning season back on November 1, defeating the Lewis & Clark Pioneers, 29-21.
