Cassidy Jones-Mowen who finished second at 138-pounds.

Three Wildcat freshman competed on Sunday, with
Jessica Cottings going 2-3 at 103-pounds, bouncing back from two early losses to place fifth, highlighted by a 10-0 technical fall in round three. At 131-pounds,
Cadence Fineran opened her day with a quick pin just 58-seconds in the match, one of three pins for her in the tournament. Fineran dropped her final two matches of the day, placing sixth in the tournament.Â

Freshman
Cassidy Jones-Mowen cruised through the 138-pound bracket, with three-consecutive pins, all within the first period. Jones-Mowen was the lone Wildcat to reach the first-place match on Sunday, falling short via a tech fall to her opponent from Pacific, placing second with a 3-1 record.

After a first round bye, senior
Klaira Flatt went 2-2 for the tournament, with one 10-0 tech fall in the consolation semifinal. Flatt's comeback came just short in the third-place match, earning fourth in the 145-pound bracket. Senior
Abisua Perez Diaz's day was riddled by an injury after her first round match where she was pinned late; still, Perez-Diaz finished fourth in the 180-pound bracket.

The Wildcats compete again in two weeks, traveling once again to Olympia, Washington, to compete in the Evergreen Open hosted by Evergreen State College on January 18 at 9 a.m.
