McMINNVILLE, Ore.. --- Linfield men's and women's swimming hosted senior night on Friday, finishing the home season with a sweep over the Lewis & Clark River Otters. The men's team cruised to a 130-65 win, while the women's team finished strong to take the dual, 118-76.

The Wildcats honored nine seniors on Friday:
Sarah Arpag,
Kirsti Keppo,
Andrew Lee,
Elijah Ng,
Taila Patterson,
Andrew Seale,
Rocco Velie,
Carson Washburn and
Cadogan Wheat. All nine Wildcats were honored prior to the meet for their hard work and dedication to the Linfield swimming program over the last four seasons.

In the opening 400-yard medley relays, Linfield took both of the top two spots on the men's side.
Sam Postlewait,
Ivan Tontchev,
Rocco Velie, and
Carson Washburn claimed first with a time of 3:38.56.
Kirsti Keppo,
Kira Etheredge,
Sarah Arpag and
Caley Haydu earned a six-second victory in the women's race.

The 1000-yard freestyle was also swept by the 'Cats,
Kai Laitinen earned a 12-second victory with a time of 10:20.82, while
Chloe Lazaraton dominanted with a 11:42.67; 23-seconds faster than the fastest Otter swimmer.

Lewis & Clark's first win came in the men's 200 freestyle, but Keppo kept the wins flowing for the 'Cats, edging out a two-second victory with a time of 2:02.13. In the quick 50 yard freestyle, Linfield dominated, earning the top three spots behind
Ivan Tontchev's 22.42-second win. Arpag also won the women's 50 free, finishing ahead of two Otters with a 25.83.

Rocco Velie spent his senior night the right way, winning the men's 200 yard IM by nearly seven seconds. Halfway through the meet, Lewis & Clark clawed back with a pair of wins, but the streak was ended by Etheredge, Patterson and
Manda Reso taking all three spots in the women's 200 yard butterfly.
Sam Postlewait narrowly claimed the 100 freestyle with a time of 49.67, winning by less-than one second.

Laitinen returned to the winner's circle a few events later, earning his second win in a marathon event, the men's 500 yard freestyle. Keppo matched it with a win of her own, cruising to an 18-second margin of victory in the race. Prior to the final relays of the night,
Jack Sappington teamed up with Laitinen and Tontchev to sweep the top-three spots in the 200 yard breastroke, each posting times over three-seconds ahead of the Otters.

Velie, Nathaniel Wilson,
Andrew Lee, and
Carson Washburn combined for a 3:20.45 in the finale, earning the men's squad the dominant win on senior night. Arpag, Etheredge, Haydu, and Lazaraton led wire-to-wire in their final race, a 16-second win over the second Wildcat squad who also topped the Otters.

Both teams won seven of eleven events on Friday, posting storng times in their final meet inside the Linfield Aquatic Center.Â

Men's and women's swimming caps off the regular season tomorrow morning across the county, taking on the George Fox Bruins in Newberg at 11 a.m.
