OLYMPIA, Wash. --- Linfield men's wrestling took on the Evergreen Open on Sunday, where two Wildcats had podium finishes, led by
Ethan Ensrud claiming his second 197-pound title of the season.

Max Vander Meide and Fermin Carillo each competed in the 141-pound bracket. Vander Meide won his first match-up, pinning his opponent late in the third period. Both Carrillo and Vander Meide's days came to an end, each dropping their final two matches via fall and technical fall.

Lucien Lefebvre and
Alex Tapia took on the 165-pound bracket, each winning two matches. Lefebvre's day started with a loss, but he rebounded with back-to-back pins, working his way to the consolation round three, where he was pinned in the second period. Tapia, won his first two matches to make it to the semifinal match, including a narrow 10-8 decision in the questerfinal. Tapia fell in a 2-0 decision in the semis, and had to bow out due to injury before his consolation semifinal match. A strong showing by both at 165-pounds.

Trey Dieringer saw the most action on Sunday, competing in six matches at 184-pounds. Dieringer took a 13-4 major in his first bout, before getting pinned early in his next match. He then went on a run of three-consecutive major decisions in the consolation bracket, fighting back to the consolation semifinal. His sixth and final match was a high-scoring 23-12, where Dieringer came up short, going 4-2 on the day.

Junior
Ethan Ensrud competed at 197-pounds, receiving a first round bye, where he went on to dominate the semifinal match by a 17-2 tech fall. Now in the championship match, the Wildcat was able to pin his opponent from Eastern Oregon in the second period, winning his second 197-pound title this season; having previously won the title at the Spokane Open.Â

Camden Roofener and
Adrian Clark each competed in the heavyweight bracket, while Clark fell in his two matches of the day, Roofener battled through six matches. After dropping his first match, the freshman had four straight pins in the consolation bracket, fighting his way back to the third-place match. Roofener won his fifth-straight via pin, taking down his opponent from Washington State University late in the second period, earning a hard-fought third-place finish.

Men's and women's wrestling return home, hosting the annual Night at the Museum dual against Treasure Valley CC on Friday night at the Evergreen Aviation and Space Museum.
