DUPONT, Wash. --- Women's golf travelled north to The Home Course to compete in the annual PLU Invitational, taking third-place as a team. The Wildcats were led by Kariss Whitford for a second time, shooting rounds of 90 and 86 to take sixth-place individually. 
 
The starting lineup consisted of five first-year Wildcats again in the second tournament of the Fall season. Whitford opened with a 90 on Monday at The Home Course, making six pars in the blistery conditions. She improved by four strokes on Tuesday, making seven pars and shooting 41 on the back nine to finish with an 86. 
 
Breleigh Garcia followed close behind Whitford, firing an opening-round 90, highlighted by a birdie on the par-three fourth hole. She also improved in the final round, tying for 14^th-place with a 90. Sophia Hamilton had the second-best score for the team in the closing round with an 89 that featured no holes worse than bogey on the back nine. She also made a birdie on the par-three fourth hole. The freshman's rounds of 93 and 89 earned solo 16^th-place.
 
Addison Nations was consistent as well, taking home rounds of 94 and 93 to finish in a tie for 17^th-place. Ainsley Kelley rounded out the lineup with rounds of 96 and 100, finishing in 21^st in the second tournament of her collegiate career. 
 
As a team, Linfield shot rounds of 368 and 358 for third place of the five teams in the tournament. Puget Sound captured the team title, while Hadley McDonough of Bellevue College earned medalist honors. 
 
Women's golf tees it up again in just a few days, heading to North Plains, Oregon, to play 36 holes at the Pacific Invitational at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Course.
