Johannsen pinned NWC Special Teams Athlete of the Week

| By:
Sophomore Punter #30 Cade Johannsen
Junior punter Cade Johannsen earned the Northwest Conference's Football Special Teams Athlete of the Week honors, as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon. Johannsen booted six punts in a 28-13 win over Chapman on Maxwell Field, pinning the Panthers inside their own 20 three times.

Currently leading the nation among Division III punters in average yardage with 47.5 yards per punt, the sophomore routinely flips the field for the Wildcats. Johannsen already has four punts exceeding 50-yards, including six ending inside the opponent's 20-yard line. In the season opener against UW-Oshkosh, he netted his season-long of 57-yards. He has also only sent the ball through the end zone once this season. The Eugene, Oregon, native through just two games this season has matched his totals from the 2022 season, where in 18 attempts had two reach over 50-yards and five end inside the 20.

Johannsen and the Wildcats football team enjoy a week off, before returning to action on October 4th against rival George Fox in Newberg, Oregon, at 1:30 p.m.
