Linfield baseball's Jake Swenson has been selected as a part of the D3baseball.com Team of the Week the organization announced Wednesday afternoon.
 
The selection comes after the sophomore right hander set a new program record for most strikeouts in a game with 17 over nine innings pitched. This marks the most by a pitcher not only in the Northwest Conference this season but the most nationally.
 
Swenson's record-setting performance came against Pacific Lutheran as he also logged 110 pitches thrown and allowed just two hits in a 6-0 shutout victory for the Wildcats.
 
Linfield continues Northwest Conference play this weekend with a home series against Whitworth.
