Linfield opens conference play against George Fox

THE RECORDS
After hosting the season-opening tournament last weekend, Linfield (2-1) opens Northwest Conference play this weekend with a three-game series against the George Fox Bruins (3-4). The Wildcats opened their season with tight wins over Pacific Lutheran and Puget Sound before dropping a game to Whitman in pouring rain and windy weather. The weekend starts with a Friday double header against the Bruins before the lone game on Saturday to wrap up the series.

LINFIELD AT A GLANCE
Linfield showed promise in its opening weekend with Hunter Klingelhoffer getting off to a hot start with two home runs and five RBI. Jake Swenson took the lead on the mound in Linfield's first game before Camden Oram and Gavin Ludlow came in with Oram getting credit for the win. Zach Johnson has played well for Linfield through the first three games, pitching five innings and allowing zero runs to go along with six strikeouts. In his first collegiate at-bat, Luke Porter blasted a ball over the fence in the bottom of the 11th inning against Puget Sound to secure the win. Linfield looks for more of the same from Porter as the season progresses.

GEORGE FOX AT A GLANCE
The Bruins are coming off a series win against North Central in Phoenix, Ariz. and are hungry to secure their first NWC win this weekend. Caleb Debban has pitched 10 innings for George Fox and has come away with a 4.5 ERA and 11 strikeouts through 49 at-bats. Aidan Rady has played well at the mound to start the year, allowing just .250 batting average in 9.1 innings pitched. Carson Coulter has been great to start the year with a .429 batting average and two home runs on the young season. The Bruins travel to McMinnville before welcoming Pacific Lutheran to Newberg in their NWC home series opener.

SERIES HISTORY
Linfield leads George Fox in the all-time series 63-58 and currently holds a two-game win streak over the Bruins. The Wildcats hold a 31-20 advantage when playing at home and look to build on that this weekend.

LIVE COVERAGE
All three games will be broadcast on the Linfield Sports Network this weekend with coverage starting 20 minutes before the first pitch. Saturday's double header starts at noon and Sunday's game is scheduled for noon as well.
