SPOKANE, Wash. – Linfield junior
Kira Hawaaboo soared 19 feet, 4¼ inches (5.90 meters) in the women's long jump on Friday, setting a new Linfield indoor track and field record at the Whitworth Invitational, held inside The Podium.

With her latest record-breaking leap, Hawaaboo qualified to compete at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships, March 14-15, in Rochester, N.Y. She is currently ranked second nationally among Division III long jumpers, trailing only Emma Seipel of Loras College, whose owns the top indoor mark of 19-7½.

Hawaaboo also competed in the women's pentathlon Friday as part of the Whitworth Invitational, where she amassed a school-record 3,355 points. She is ranked 13th in Division III in the pentathlon and remains a provisional qualifier for the national meet.

Hawaaboo's previous best pentathlon mark was 3,149, achieved three weeks ago at the Lauren McCluskey Memorial Open hosted by the University of Idaho.

Hawaaboo, together with select members of the Linfield track and field team, is scheduled to compete Friday, Feb. 21, in the George Fox Indoor No. 2 meet starting at 9 a.m.
