LAS VEGAS, Nev. --- Linfield women's wrestling competed in three separate duals on Wednesday morning, falling short in all three against Manchester (54-6), Utah Tech (51-6), and Albion (39-18).
 
In the opening dual against Manchester, the Wildcats forfeited six matches, meaning Manchester would win the dual regardless of match results. Although, freshman Cadence Fineran grabbed the 'Cats lone win in the dual, earning a pin 2:06 into the first period of the 131-pound bout. Jessica Cottings (103-pounds, Cassidy Jones-Mowen (138-pounds), and Klaira Flatt (145-pounds) were all pinned in the first period of their matches against Manchester. 
 
Jones-Mowen earned the sole win for Linfield, who fell 51-6 against Division I Utah Tech, six matches went Utah Tech's way via forfeit or injury to begin the dual. The freshman dominated her 138-pound match, winning 10-0 via technical fall. Meanwhile, Cottings came just short in the 103-pound bout, narrowly falling via a 6-5 decision. Fineran and Flatt were pinned in each of their matches for the dual.
 
Against Albion, six matches were won by Albion via forfeit or injury, while Jessica Cottings earned Linfield points in a forfeit at 103-pounds. Both Fineran and Jones-Mowen picked up their second wins of the day, with Fineran dominating to a 11-0 tech fall. Jones-Mowen pinned her opponent late in the first period to earn points for the team. Flatt battled in her closest match of the day, with her opponent from Albion edging out the win although the match was 6-6 at the end of regulation. 
 
Fineran and Jones-Mowen each had successful outings, both going 2-1 in the tournament. 
 
Linfield men's and women's wrestling returns in 2026, hosting the annual Mat 'Cat Invitational on January 4 inside Ted Wilson Gymnasium, beginning at 9 a.m.
