Johannsen, Johnson headline Wildcats to earn D3football.com All-Region 6 Honors

| By:
Junior Defensive Back #12/35 Kenyon Johnson
D3football.com released their annual NCAA Division III football All-Region teams on Wednesday morning, with three Wildcats earning All-Region honors for their success on the field in 2025. Juniors Kenyon Johnson and Cade Johannsen headlined First Team All-Region 6 for Linfield, meanwhile junior return specialist Reid Gray earned Third Team honors for his success.

D3football.com Region 6 includes the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC), the Northwest Conference (NWC), the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC), the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) and the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC). The teams, selected in balloting by Region 6 sports information directors and D3football.com staff, were chosen from 173 nominations by full Division III member schools. A total of 80 players were chosen. Players nominated for All-Region are eligible to be considered for D3football.com All-America honors, which will be announced Monday, Dec. 22, 2025.

Johnson, a junior defensive back from Vancouver, Washington, competed in eight games this Fall, totaling 26 tackles, three interceptions, one fumble recovery, and nine pass break ups. Since transferring from Southern Oregon University, Johnson has seen the field in 29 games over three seasons in the purple and cardinal, amassing 68 tackles with five picks and 15 pass break ups. He also earned First Team All-Northwest Conference in 2025, the second All-Conference honor of his career. The son of Melissa and Karl Johnson is currently majoring in Exercise Science.

Junior punter Cade Johannsen earns his first All-Region recognition, competing in all nine games in 2025. With 30 punts for a total of 1,343 yards, Johannsen booted 11 punts over 50 yards, pinning opponents inside the 20-yard line 12 times. His long of 57 came in the season opener against UW-Oshkosh, helping him rank second in Division III in average yards per punt; if he had met qualifying the punts-per-game minimum. Hailing from Eugene, Oregon, the son of Kimberly and Eric Johannsen majors in computer science.

Return specialist and defensive back, Reid Gray was named Third Team All-Region 6 for his work on special teams. The Demascus, Oregon, native returned 10 punts and 10 kickoffs, including a 94-yard scamper for a touchdown at George Fox. He averaged 28.2 yards per kickoff return and 13.7 yards per punt return, totaling over 400-yards in returns. The junior is the son of Lyn and Ryan Gray, and is currently an exercise science major.

The Wildcats finished the season second in the Northwest Conference Football standings, going 7-2 overall and 6-2 in NWC play.
