The Northwest Conference office released their weekly Player of the Week honors on Monday afternoon, where junior quarterback
Luke McNabb earned Football Offensive Player of the Week.Â
The Scappoose, Oregon, native led the Wildcats to a 29-21 win over Lewis & Clark last Saturday, securing the program's 69th-consecutive winning season. McNabb was 19/27 with 287 yards passing, tossing two touchdowns. Also prominent in the 'Cats ground game, he rushed for 11-yards and a touchdown score late in the first quarter. Taking the opening kickoff, McNabb got the scoring started on the first play from scrimmage, hitting freshman
Jayce Bareng for a 68-yard score to take an early lead on the Pioneers; the QB's longest completion of the season. Saturday was the junior's best passing performance by completion percentage this season, completing 70.4% of his passes.Â
In his first season as the primary starting QB for Linfield, McNabb has totaled over 1,600 yards passing, 282 yards rushing, and 20 total touchdowns this season. He averages 228-yards passing and 40-yards rushing per game in his third season. Studying Sports Management, the brother of former Wildcat Connor McNabb is the son of Mary and Sean McNabb.Â
McNabb and the Linfield football team (5-2, 4-1 NWC) aim to win their third-straight game this weekend, taking on the Puget Sound Loggers (1-7, 1-4 NWC) at 1 p.m. in Tacoma, Washington.
