COOS BAY, Ore. --- Linfield men's wrestling competed in their second dual of the week, falling to the Southwestern Oregon Community College Lakers, 35-23.

The meet began with Linfield trailing 18-0 due to three forfeits. Coming off of a win at home,
Duke Wentzel fell in the first period of his 125-pound match on Sunday.
Carson Jackson put the 'Cats on the board in his 133-pound match, dominating out of the gate, pinning his opponent just 68-seconds into the match.Â

Max Vander Meide followed suit with a clean match of his own, earning a 15-0 technical fall late in the first period of the 141-pound bout. Vander Meide cut into the team deficit, trailing 24-11. At 157-pounds,
Damon Gasilos also earned his second win of the weekend, pinning his opponent in the final seconds of the third period, putting the team just seven points behind with three matches left.

Lucien Lefebvre was unable to extend his winning streak in the 174-pound class, as his Laker opponent controlled the pace early, ending the match in a 17-2 technical fall at the end of the second period.
Ethan Ensrud kept Linfield's hopes alive with a clutch pin to begin the second period. Needing a pin in the final match of the day,
Adrian Clark fell short in the heavyweight class, as he was pinned in the first minute of the final match of the day.Â

Southwestern Oregon hung on to win 35-23 despite three Wildcat forfeits.Â

The Wildcats compete again in one week, heading to the Spokane Open in Spokane, Washington next Sunday.
