The Northwest Conference office announced their weekly Player of the Week awards on Monday afternoon, naming freshman libero Naia Alefaio-Foifua as the Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week after a strong week that featured three matches. 

For Alefaio-Foifua, it's her second time in her young career that she's earned the defensive honor, consistently ranking as one of the best liberos in the region. Ranking No.2 in the NWC in digs per set with 4.53, she tallied 56 digs in 12 matches played last week, while adding a pair of aces from behind the service line against Willamette in the mid-week match up. Alefaio-Foifua and the Wildcats currently sit in fifth place in the NWC standings through six conference matches this season, and look to prepare for three matches over five days. This Friday, the 'Cats head to Portland to face Lewis & Clark, then play host to George Fox on Sunday, and Pacific next Tuesday at 7 p.m.
