Wildcats begin NWC play against Boxers, Lutes and Loggers

THE RECORDS
Linfield's nonconference schedule resulted in a 3-3 record including wins over Multnomah, Pacific Union and Warner Pacific. The Wildcats went 4-12 in Northwest Conference play last season but first-year head coach Lacey Bell has taken the reigns and looks to build off a promising nonconference start. Pacific enters conference play with a 4-3 record while Pacific Lutheran enters 5-4. Puget Sound finishes its nonconference schedule 3-5.
 
LINFIELD AT A GLANCE
The Wildcats enjoyed great performances throughout nonconference play from Nora Myre and Marina Erosa.  Myre currently sits at 59 kills to go along with 51 digs while Erosa has 39 kills.
 
Defensively, Kanoe Contreras has impressed with 40 digs while Paige Richards has added another 36 on the season. Freshman Madison Millard leads Linfield in blocks with 22.
 
PACIFIC AT A GLANCE
The Boxers are led by Emma Velcheck who is among the conference leaders with 80 kills.  Danica Nelson takes charge on defense with 91 digs.
 
Pacific looks to improve off a 5-11 conference record in 2023.
 
PACIFIC LUTHERAN AT A GLANCE
The Lutes have seen good contribution from all over the court to begin the 2024 season.  Claire Hindman leads the offense with 74 kills and Julissa Pernsteiner adds 61 in her freshman campaign. Defensively, Makenna Jackson leads the way with 170 digs.
 
PUGET SOUND AT A GLANCE
Puget Sound finished last season in the middle of the NWC standings and Maddie Badger looks to make some noise with 63 kills on the season while Samantha Keightley anchors the Loggers defense with 99 digs.
 
SERIES HISTORY
Linfield holds a decisive edge over Pacific in the all-time series with a 41-19 record, including a 20-11 away record.
 
The Wildcats look to end a three-match losing streak to the Lutes. Linfield has a 14-45 all-time record against Pacific Lutheran.
 
Linfield hopes to make history and snap a 14-match losing streak against Puget Sound where the all-time record for the Wildcats is 7-51.
